Ia menawarkan versi terkini untuk pemulihan data cakera keras berasaskan sumber terbuka, termasuk GNU ddrescue, Photorec, The Sleuth Kit dan Gnu-fdisk. Selain itu, pakej tambahan yang dimasukkan ke dalam Ubuntu Rescue Remix ini adalah aoetools, array-info, ext3-grep, gptsync, kpartx, dan scrounge-ntfs.

FoxTab is a very appealing 3D tab management application that was especially designed for Mozilla’s Firefox. It’s an excellent add-on with a file size of only 431kb.
To use Foxtab, you can download it here and click Download Now.
Firefox will block a pop-up window and it will display an Allow button at the top-right portion of the screen. Click Allow to proceed.
Then, click Install Now.
After the installation is complete, press Restart Firefox.
After the restart, FireFox will load your previously opened websites. To start using FoxTab, press the CTRL and Q keys at the same time, or click the Launch FoxTabbutton.
This is the program’s 3D view. It displays your opened websites. All 3D thumbnails can be set in portrait or landscape.
You can also select your preferred 3D view angle by clicking on the spinner.
FoxTab’s main interface has three menus – the My Top Sites, Recently Closed, and the Opened Tabs. If you want to add your most favorite and always visited website to the My Top Sites menu, open that website, right-click anywhere on its page, and press Add To Top Sites.
If you want to adjust FoxTab’s main settings, click the Options button.
In here, you can adjust some default settings. Click OK if you have already made some changes.

VLC is an awesome tool for watching videos and listening to online radios. But none of this will work if the network prohibits to do so. So heres a short and simple guide to configure your VLC to run through a proxy.
Right click your vlc shortcut on desktop >> Properties

Biasanya selepas format komputer pelanggan, saya akan install software yang asas seperti Firefox, Adobe Reader, dan Yahoo Messenger. Jadi saya muatkan kesemua software ini ke dalam pen drive untuk dibawa ke mana-mana. Masalahnya, saya perlu selalu memeriksa koleksi software tersebut supaya ia menggunakan versi yang terkini. Dan kadang-kala saya terlupa juga untuk membawa pen drive.
Cara yang lebih mudah adalah dengan download software terus dari komputer pelanggan. Namun tidak perlulah pergi ke laman web yang berkaitan satu-persatu, kerana Ninite akan melakukannya untuk anda. FreeApps adalah sebuah utiliti yang membantu anda memasang pelbagai aplikasi untuk Windows.
Jika anda mempunyai sebuah komputer yang baru sahaja kena format, pastinya anda perlu download dan install pelbagai aplikasi satu-persatu, seperti Adobe Reader, Firefox, VLC Media Player dan sebaagainya. Namun dengan FreeApps segala tugas tersebut akan dilakukan secara automatik.

Adakalanya bila CD/DVD-ROM rosak, anda perlu install Windows menggunakan pen drive. Malah pen drive juga lebih senang dibawa.
Anda boleh membuat pen drive pemasangan Windows ini dengan mudah menggunakan WinToFlash. Windows yang disokong termasuklah Windows XP, Windows Vista, dan Windows 7.
Apa yang anda perlukan adalah CD/DVD pemasangan Windows tersebut dan sebuah pen drive. Kemudian ikut langkah-langkah di bawah:
Guna pen drive ini untuk install Windows seperti biasa. Jangan lupa untuk menetapkan boot sequence pertama kepada pen drive, supaya komputer dapat mengesannya sewaktu dihidupkan.
Windows 7 mempunyai kekunci pintas yang mudah untuk anda menyusun tetingkap yang terbuka. Hanya tekan kekunci Windows + Anak panah kiri atau kanan.
Fungsi User Account Control (UAC) dibina untuk melindungi anda daripada aplikasi yang ingin mengubah sistem Windows tanpa kebenaran. Namun bagi pengguna Windows yang berpengalaman, fungsi ini agak melecehkan kerana perlu klik pada butang OK setiap kali anda ingin install apa-apa perisian.
Jika anda fikir anda seorang pengguna Windows yang berpengalaman, dan boleh mengenal perisian manakah yang betul-betul selamat untuk dijalankan, anda boleh membatalkan terus fungsi UAC ini.
1. Buka Control Panel dan taipkan ‘UAC’ di dalam kotak carian. Anda akan nampak kategori Action Center dipaparkan. Klik pada ‘Change User Account Control settings’
2. Ubah tetapan kepada ‘Never notify’. Klik pada butang OK. UAC akan dipaparkan buat kali terakhir, klik sahaja pada butang Yes.
Semudah itu sahaja, fungsi UAC pada Windows 7 anda telah dimatikan bagi memudahkan urusan anda.

I attended last year’s conference which was the first one and I must say, I enjoyed it. It was worth every penny. But it was RM50 last year for students . Good news everyone! Yesterday DiGi send out some updates to those people who opt-in to their newsletter. According to their email iPhone 4 will be available next week.
According to some people on Lowyat Forum, DiGi will start selling iPhone 4 on 22nd September. One user even said the price will be RM1999, most probably with contract. But I doubt that it will launch with RM1999. Still this is just a rumor. No official announcement from DiGi yet for the time being.
On the other hand, Maxis also will be selling their iPhone 4 too next week. One forumer said they will start selling it on 28th September, according to his inside source. Still this is just a rumor so please dont speculate anything. Do wait for the official announcement from Maxis. By the way, registration of interest page on Maxis website has been closed. That means they are preparing to launch the iPhone 4, and it is real soon.
For your information Digi and Maxis both already provide Micro SIM for their postpaid user. As reported earlier Maxis user can change their normal SIM to Micro SIM at selected Maxis Centre for RM25. Digi on the other hand started their Micro SIM exchange program on 9 September with SIM replacement fee of RM20 also at selected Digi Centre.
Once again people, this is only a rumor. Do not speculate anything for now. Just wait for the official announcement, pre-order quickly, que at your nearest Maxis/Digi iPhone 4 launch venue and get it on your hand. For now keep your fingers crossed. Lets see which one of this telcos will launch iPhone 4 first.

Since Facebook changed their privacy policy, people are looking for good alternative for Facebook. So a group of student started making their own social network to compete with Facebook. They named it Diaspora. The project has been going smoothly and recently they release early preview of how Diaspora may look like and its code.
For me it looks just like Facebook. But the system is totally different. You may Google for more info on how Diaspora works. For now this function is up and running:
• Share status messages and photos privately and in near real time with your friends through “aspects”.
• Friend people across the Internet no matter where Diaspora seed is located.
• Manage friends using “aspects”
• Upload of photos and albums
• All traffic is signed and encrypted (except photos, for now).
There are working for more function such as:
•Facebook Integration
•Internationalization
•Data Portability
So far this project looks promising. For now lets enjoy some screenshot of it and lets hope it turns out well.

Well well well. After waiting for a long time, my iPhone 4 arrived today. Bought it from a Lowyat user who bulk buy the phone from Singapore Apple Store. He helps me order the phone, pick up the phone from Singapore and post it to my house.
So I wanna tell you whats so great about this phone.

“The display on iPhone 4, is blow away!” Thats what Scott Forstall said in iPhone 4 Promo Video. And I must agree with him. The display is so clear, sharp, bright and beautiful. I’ve never seen anything as sharp as iPhone 4 display before. Its awesome, believe me. Awesome.
Transition between app to app or anything I do is very smooth and fast. No lags at all eventhough theres apps running on background. I always love iPhone soft keyboard compared to Android and on the iPhone 4 it just gets better.
Multitasking on iPhone 4
Apple developers brilliantly implement a very good way to multitask on iPhone. Fast app switching makes my work easier and double tap to see running apps is very easy to use. As I said eventhough I have some apps running on background I didn’t feel any performance issue on my iPhone 4.
Before I got this phone in my hand I always try to visualize how thin the iPhone 4 is. Well looks like its thinner than I though. It just as this as a pen.
As we already know iPhone 4 have 2 cameras, rear and front. Front camera is not that good. It just like other phone’s camera. But the rear 5 Megapixel camera is so good. The autofocus is the best, the picture is so clear and bright and you can record video with HD recording.
Well everybody knows how pretty iPhone 4 is.
For my iPhone 4, I didn’t have any antennagate issue. No yellow screen issue. No blue-ish picture taken by the camere issue. I didn’t find any issue on my phone so far and I’m quite relief.
BTW this is my DIY micro sim. I cut it myself using some guide and thank god it works flawlessly.

I didn’t try Facetime yet as my girlfriend didn’t have any wifi connectivity at her house. I will teach her how to reverse tether her laptop connection to her iPhone 4 later.
